Pixie (Formerly Known as Keesha) - Adopted September, 2008

October 2008 - Pixie's mom shared her heartbreaking story with All Dog Rescue. Her beautiful Pixie died only one month after she was adopted; an autopsy determined that she had a congenital deformity that was undetectable during her medical exams. While her story is very sad, Pixie got to know what it meant to be adored and loved during the last month of her much too-short life.

Her mom writes:

I feel like one of the luckiest people in the world. Who would have thought something so small could bring so much joy to my life? I found in Pixie not just the love of a companion, but an unconditional, reciprocated love that immediately bonded us and placed her firmly in my heart. We were inseperable; ours days were filled with time spent together. If I went to the pet store she was sure to tag along, a heartbeat at my heels as she was loved on and spoiled by the employees with treats and goodies. Even just running simple errands, like going to the bank, gas station, picking up dinner for the night…she was sure to be sitting in the seat right next to me. I feel as though our time together was cut too short, her death seems so unfair in the sense that we had just found each other. But as I look at the pictures and see her face…this is the face of a happy dog. For the last month of her life, I know that I made her just as happy as she made me, and that means more to me than the span of time. She may no longer be with me, but I can't thank All Dog Rescue enough for allowing me to be able to cherish the time I did have with Pixie. Thank you!
