Kahlua (Formerly Known as Koko) - Adopted October, 2008

October 2008 - Kahlua's mom sent in an update on her two All Dog Rescue girls (you can check out Dixie's page here ):

Koko and Dixie are both doing absolutely fabulous! Koko has adjusted beautifully to her new home and has become very attached to Dixie. You’re right, Susan, it’s hard to believe she was shy and timid when you got her. She certainly isn’t anymore; her playful personality has really surfaced. She follows Dixie everywhere, and even climbed into Dixie’s bed with her last night. Dixie is very patient; they gave each other a few licks and went to sleep. Later, Koko got up and moved to her crate with her toys, where she slept quietly until morning. Dixie loves to play with Koko, and brings her toys and sticks, then runs so Koko will chase her. We love watching them play and interact.

So far, she has already learned to sit, and she is learning to fetch and come when she is called. Were also working on the puppy “biting”. Paul, my son Marc and I just adore her! (My daughter will meet her next weekend when she comes home from college.) Koko is so cute, we love the way one ear stands up when she just wakes up, or hears something of interest. We’re thinking about changing her name to Kahlua because we know a few other Kokos, and we think she is young enough to adjust to the change. Tomorrow we are going to bring them to the dog park, since Koko stays close to Dixie and comes when called, for the most part.

I’ve attached a few pictures of both dogs. Some are of Dixie at the marina last summer. She loves swimming and fetching sticks. The rest were taken yesterday in our yard and home.

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to bring these wonderful dogs into our home! All Dog Rescue is a great organization!
