George (Formerly Known as Peyton) - Adopted November, 2008

June 2009 - George's family sent his foster mom another update on their beautiful boy:

I have been thinking about you and thought that, while I had the thought, I would actualize that with an email update to you about how great George is doing. (Unfortunately, I still have not learned how to upload photos to the computer, but when/if I do, I will send off a photo of our big, gorgeous boy - who's now 57 pounds.)

Ron and I think George probably is most happy in winter, when it's cold and he has snow to play and whirl in. But, he's accommodated himself to warmer weather by taking frequent dips in our pond. Big breakthrough about a month ago when he figured out how to actually swim. He was so proud of himself. There are two labs next door who are his best friends - one is about his age, so up for all the wrestling and head chewing. He heads out the door each morning to hang out with his buddies, comes home for a swim, then all happily tired and cooled down, is happy to rest up in the kennel until we come home from work. He continues to be good with the cats, loves fetching and is getting much better with some of his "OCD" behavior - like coming thru doorways.

We continue to be feel very fortunate that George and we found each other. He's a terrific dog. Thanks again for making that happen for us!

December 2008 - George's family sent his foster mom an update on their beautiful new boy:

George is doing great. He is absolutely the most adorable, best boy. Wants to please, willing, and smart about learning rules and boundaries. He's doing really well with the cats, though is still a little confused that they aren't interested in playing with him like Brewster did. We think he misses Brewster a lot, but hopefully having 10 acres to run around in is some compensation. He loves the snow and does this funny dive-bomb into the snow, head first, then wriggles around on the ground making doggie snow angels. We started an 8 week obedience class with him on Friday night. Not to brag, but he was the star of the class and the teacher's pet! :)
