Walter (Formerly known as Gibson)- Adopted December, 2008

September 2009 - Walter's mom sent us another update on her boy:

Just as an update, he is about the most popular dog ever. Whenever we go anywhere, whether it is the dog park or my office or for a walk along Grand Avenue in St. Paul , people say hi and comment on how cute he is. He is loved by many and he is a happy jumper, jumping several feet in the air. We enjoy seeing his antics and he is starting agility training in a couple of weeks. He has already been through beginning and intermediate obedience training.

Since my husband is usually out of town during the week, Walter is my constant companion. My adult daughter recently told me I couldn’t keep treating Walter like a child and I realized that I was holding him like a baby! He has truly found a great home and he plays often with my son’s three dogs. Walter seems to know he has found a place in all of our hearts.

January 2008 - Walter's mom sent in an update on her adorable boy:

We adopted "Gibson" right before Christmas. I was trying to attach a couple of pictures, including some where he is with my daughter's rat terrier who was home for Christmas. They had a great time together! And they looked very cute together. I will try again when my computer (or the operator) isn't acting quite as funky.

We renamed the dog Walter--in honor of his wonderful eyebrows and the vet who cared for him (her name was Dr. Walters). He just looks like a Walter and our son, a chef, kept getting hung up on Gibson being a cocktail!! At any rate, we absolutely love him. He doesn't bark, and he is a true companion. He has had no household accidents and not chewed up anything...that is until Friday when he chewed his way through a heavy duty dog crate. It is incredible what he did, but he came through with just scrapes and losing a bunch of hair, including most of his wonderful eyebrows. He will be seeing the vet tomorrow as he does appear to have some significant separation anxiety.

However, we just wanted you to know that he is a joy. We are working on getting him not to jump up as much on people. He can jump all he wants when we are playing, and then he can jump REALLY high. He is very smart and learning things rapidly. I just think he has some adjustment to do... With calmness and training I think he will get there.
