- Finding Life-Long Homes for Rescued Dogs -
Louie's new mom writes:
Louie came to stay at his forever home on March 17, 2007, and we are so
delighted to have him here! He is a happy and healthy puppy who loves
earning treats!! He rings his bell to tell us he wants to go outside, sits
for his dinner bowl, and almost always comes when we call him (anything for
a treat!). He rarely barks (only at the bunnies in the backyard), and sleeps
through the night on his dog bed on the floor next to us without making a
peep until it's time for his breakfast. His favorite thing to do (especially
when the sun is shining), is to lay in the garden on the warm mulch, chew a
toy, and watch the world go by. He even taught himself to bury a bone in the
backyard yesterday! We watched in wonder as he diligently worked to dig the
hole, drop in the bone, and then re-cover the bone and hole with dirt and
mulch until some later date when he will "rediscover" his treat! He also
makes us laugh when he (seriously) WATCHES TELEVISION! Soon we'll take him
on his first of many trips to the cabin where we'll spend our weekends
swimming, relaxing, and playing fetch in the lake...
Louie is great with the kids (although he's still learning how ~ and how NOT
~ to use his sharp little teeth), and enjoys playing with them in the yard.
He also loves going on long walks, does great on the leash, and LOVES to
meet every single passerby who inevitably comments on how cute he is,
followed by the question, "What kind of dog is he?" When we reply, "Just a
really cute Mutt," no one can believe it! Theories abound about his
parentage; a mystery that may never be solved...
We are so happy to have Louie in our home and we look forward to watching
him become the wonderful dog he will grow up to be. Thank you All Dog Rescue
for bringing Louie into our lives; we are so grateful!
